Electric Insulator Silicone Grease is a multi-functional silicone grease for lubrication of electric connector, low speed bearings, slides, stenter width adjustment spindles, also for air cylinders of air blast circuit breakers and could be used as an electrical insulating and filling compound.
Electric Insulator Silicone Grease is a non-melting silicone grease for long term lubrication at extreme temperatures. The grease has a high electric strength and is also resistant to chemicals, oils and gases (40% Nitric Acid, Conc. Sulphuric Acid up to 40 C, cold Water, 90% Glycol Solution, Glycerol, Mineral Oils, Butane, Compressed Chlorine Gas, Steam, Sulphur Dioxide, Liquid ammonia).
Grease are applied to insulators when apply :
- As an inhibitor to reduce the liability of flashover in polluted conditions.
- As a means of reducing the possibility of radio interference (noise).
Contaminants can be either conductive or non-conductive and in the case of the latter such as cement dust the effects of rain, fog or heavy dew etc, cause them to become conductive. Silicone grease applied to a thickness of 1/6” to 1/8” is effective for up to between 3-5 years.
The silicone base fluids in the grease encapsulate the contaminates so isolating them also silicone is highly water repellant providing a hydrophobic surfaces. Cleaning is usually by steam cleaning when it is time to replace the grease.
Electric Insulator Silicone Grease is radio noise imtigation. The object is to prevent oxide formation between metallic faces, such as those found in insulator stacking circuit breakers etc.
FEATURES :
- Wide temperature range
- Excellent high temperature resistance
- Good resistance to chemicals, oils, water and gases.
- Does not effect most rubbers and plastic.
